Data policy

What Saathi stores

• Your account: name, email and avatar. Sign in with Apple’s “Hide My Email” and we only ever see the relay address.
• Your trips: names, dates, places, the itinerary, who is on the trip and their roles.
• Money: expenses, the currency and the exchange rate locked at the time, splits and settlements. Saathi is a ledger. It never holds or moves money and never sees card or bank details.
• Documents: tickets, bookings and files you add to a trip, encrypted at rest.
• Imports: text, emails, PDFs or screenshots you bring in are kept only as long as needed to build the itinerary you review and confirm.

Who can see what

A trip is private to the people on it. Companions who join from a link give a name and nothing else; they see what’s next, where you’re staying and what they owe. Booking references unlock only after the planner approves the join. Links use long random tokens, and the planner can revoke a link at any time.

Nobody at Saathi reads your trips in the course of running the service. There is no public feed and no profile that other users can browse.

On your device

The app keeps a copy of your trips so they work offline. The web trip link stays readable offline once it has loaded. Signing out removes the local copy.

Analytics

We measure how the app is used (screens, features, crashes) to improve it. These events don’t contain your itinerary, expenses or documents. There is no advertising, no selling of data and no sharing with AI services beyond the imports you explicitly ask for.

How long it stays

Your data stays while your account is active. Delete your account and your personal data is removed within 30 days; expenses remain visible to your travel companions with your name replaced by “Deleted member”. When a planner deletes a trip, everything in it is gone after a 30-day grace period.

Taking it with you

Every trip can be exported in full, on Free and Pro, with no lock-in. You can also ask us for a copy of everything tied to your account, or for a correction or deletion, from the support page.

Where it lives

Trips are stored with Supabase, the website is served from Vercel and Cloudflare, and analytics run on PostHog. Sign-in can go through Apple or Google if you choose them. The privacy policy lists each provider and your rights under GDPR and CCPA.
